About

Queer Keys was founded because a couple folks from the Key West community realized that there is a need for LGBTQIA+ programs and services on this island and throughout the Florida Keys. By building this organization from the ground up, one program and service at a time, we hope to create an organization with broad impact and a lasting presence.

TO SUPPORT, EDUCATE, EMPOWER, AND CELEBRATE THE QUEER COMMUNITY IN THE FLORIDA KEYS

TO SEE THE FLORIDA KEYS BECOME A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE, AND CELEBRATORY ISLAND CHAIN FOR ALL PEOPLE

RESPONSIBILITY • EQUITY • TRANSPARENCY • COMMUNITY • INNOVATION

QUEER KEYS HOPES TO GROW INTO A WRAPAROUND LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY CENTER, PROVIDING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE FLORIDA KEYS.

WE ENVISION A CENTER WITH MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, FREE STI TESTING, COMMUNITY GATHERINGS, A COMMUNITY GARDEN, AND DEDICATED PROGRAMMING FOR YOUTH, SENIORS, AND TRANS FOLKS.

OUR LENS IS INTERSECTIONAL. OUR GOAL IS TO NURTURE A RESILIENT COMMUNITY FOR EVERYONE.
