Meet Aqua Idol Contestant: Samuel Costilow
Sam has called the Florida Keys home for nearly five years and works as a budtender at The Green House. When not at work, you’ll likely find him cooking, gardening, or planning his next culinary creation.
Queer Keys holds a special place in Sam’s heart. He attended the very first Queer Keys meeting and helped support the organization during its early days. He’s competing in Aqua Idol because he believes in keeping that support flowing, especially during a time when LGBTQ+ organizations and community spaces are more important than ever.
When it comes to music, Michael Bublé is Sam’s favorite artist and the inspiration behind his love of singing. What can you expect from his performances? Lots of energy, whimsy, frivolity, and hopefully a few good notes.

Meet Aqua Idol Contestant singing on behalf of Queer Keys: Tip's Saner
Tip (Tiffanie) Saner is a mother of eight (six of being her own),. Since moving to the Florida Keys in 2018, Tip has worn many hats—including stylist, barber, loctitian, owner of Tip Top Talent KW, and dedicated "Momager" to local rising star Kaira Jayde.
Tip is competing on behalf of Queer Keys because supporting the LGBTQ+ community has always been close to her heart. While living in Orlando, she helped raise funds following the tragic Pulse Nightclub shooting, a loss that deeply affected her community and touched her personally, as many of her barbershop clients were among those who perished that night.
With LGBTQ+ family members of her own and a husband who teaches yoga for Queer Keys, she believes everyone deserves the support and freedom to live as their authentic selves.
With a lifelong love of music and a career spent helping performers shine, Tip’s Aqua Idol performances could go in just about any direction (Hence becoming a talent agent). Her musical tastes span many genres, though reggae holds a special place in her heart for its uplifting and soulful spirit. It is pure, enlightening music
Meet Aqua Idol Contestant: Sarah Goodwin
Sarah has called the Florida Keys home for more than 21 years. She works as an eco-tour guide with Blue Planet Kayak and Geiger Paddle Hut and also dedicates her time to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation with the Key West Wildlife Center.
For Sarah, music played an important role in understanding her own identity. As a teenager, seeing Madonna openly date both Warren Beatty and Sandra Bernhard helped her realize that sexuality didn’t have to fit into a simple gay-or-straight box. That moment helped her make sense of her own experiences and embrace who she is. Looking back, she wishes organizations like Queer Keys had existed when she was questioning everything society told her was “normal.”
Sarah is competing to support the work Queer Keys does for LGBTQ+ people throughout the Florida Keys, especially young people who deserve access to community, support, and information.
When it comes to performing, Sarah loves rock, pop, and Broadway. Expect plenty of energy, showmanship, and audience interaction. Because nothing beats feeling that glow-up from a cheering crowd!

Meet Aqua Idol Contestant singing on behalf of Queer Keys: Daniel Wiggins
Daniel arrived in Key West in 2007 and works as a Quality Assurance Officer supporting Navy fighter aircraft.
He’s competing in Aqua Idol on behalf of Queer Keys for two reasons: Beth made him do it, and because the queer community is his family.
What can you expect when he takes the stage? One word: SEXY.

Meet Aqua Idol Contestant: Alexis Holzer
Originally from Baltimore, Lex spent years touring with their band Honey Extractor and performing regularly at Sloppy Joe’s before finally making the move to Key West in March of last year.
Lex joined Aqua Idol at the request of a friend and is excited to support the incredible work of Queer Keys Community Center and the LGBTQ+ community throughout the Florida Keys.
What can you expect from a Lex performance? A big voice, plenty of sarcasm, and a healthy dose of comedy. Get ready for entertainment both on and off the mic!
